And time stood still

60 years and approximately 3 hours ago Japanese time, a device exploded over the city of Hiroshima at exactly 0817hrs JST with a ferocity the likes of which the world had never seen before.

Lest We Forget.

And the Russians were killing and raping German civilians as they advanced westwards towards Berlin while RAF and USAAF bombers were firebombing Dresden and Hamburg, the Japanese civilian population, excluding those in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as a whole did not even begin to suffer as much as civilians in other parts of the world in comparision, you have a point somewhere in that simplistic rant of yours?

I'm not looking at the history or the justification behind it all, I'm just marking an event which I sincerely hope doesn't happen again because Fat Man and Little Boy would look like firecrackers going off if one of their modern descendents let loose. I welcome you putting your comments down in my little corner of cyberspace, you want a discussion? Let's have one.

Glad to find a local kindred spirit who enjoys observing and commemorating the anniversaries of WWII events.
